Christen's Role

At the beginning of last year Christen Forster was released from leadership of the local church into the role of Senior Leader of River, working more widely in the hope of establishing a network of like-minded ministries and churches. At that time he handed over the leadership of River Church to his successor Colin Barnes. Christen has had an active year focused on supporting the leaders of new church plants, external speaking engagements, writing the first two volumes of his Supranatural Life book series and organising events.
In June of this year this arrangement was reviewed, and after much prayer and discussion it was agreed that now is the time for Christen to pursue his wider role more independently. Therefore Christen will cease working for River Church at the end of 2011.
We thank Christen for all he has brought to River Church over the years. Under his leadership the church grew numerically with two church plants, the BIG Year has been established and the church ran the highly successful Under an Open Heaven conference. We wish him all the very best in this new season as he pursues his calling.
