| Marlow Congregation Small Groups
Small Groups exist within the structure of River Church in different ways; as part of Congregational life (probably most common), as something generated by a Neighbourhood Group, as a special interest group, related to a Church Department, across congregational boundaries and so on.
Wherever they occur, Small Groups have one central function. They are designed to further our DISCIPLESHIP in following Jesus. There is an increased opportunity for accountability, openness and interaction, that comes with a small group of people meeting together, that makes this make sense. Running alongside this there will of course certainly be important elements of fellowship, friendship and identity.
Some groups will have a particular focus - perhaps based upon a study guide - and will have a defined lifespan (eg 10 weeks). Others are more 'ongoing', but will probably review whether group members wish to continue with the group every so often.
Here is a list of groups regularly available: some may run once a year or once a term; others are continuous.
