About Us

Who are we?

Welcome!

River Church meets in Maidenhead, Marlow, Slough and Englefield Green. We have a history spanning over twenty-five years of meeting together and reaching out into the local community. We believe in a personal relationship with God, made possible by the life, death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ, and that relationship affects everything we do. Our experience is that the supernatural power of God, which we read about in the Bible, can still be known today in our own lives. For us, Church best describes the people rather than the buildings we use, and so we place great value on relationships and community.

We are part of the Pioneer Network of churches - a nationwide group committed to dynamic and effective Christianity - and a member church of the Evangelical Alliance. We take an active part in groups seeking to express Christian unity - bringing together Christians from different churches - such as the various ‘Churches Together’ structures.

River Church seeks to be in touch with society and the issues that confront individuals today. Our vision is to respond positively in the local community, bringing care, good news and a message of hope to everyone.

We currently meet on Sundays to worship together, pray, receive teaching and experience the power of God. This sometimes involves the whole church meeting together, and at other times we meet in congregational areas. (Please see Church calendar for details).

Apart from Sunday meetings, there are other mid-week groups for members of the church. In these smaller settings, there is more opportunity for a sense of community, for closer relationships and support.

River Church is a Registered Charity No. 1082181 and has a Board of Trustees.
