 River Church and Larchfield
As part of our commitment to love and serve our local community, River Church (Maidenhead) hosted the 2nd Larchfield Festival in Desborough Park, Maidenhead, on the weekend of July 1st – 3rd.
The Larchfield Festival is a fun, family-friendly weekend-long event put on especially for the residents of Larchfield and hosted in the heart of Larchfield - Desborough Park.
With a giant marquee in the park, a youth night, a mobile skate park, comedy night, family fun day, over 65s lunch, a jazz café and more – there really was something for everyone!
Last year’s first-ever Larchfield Festival saw local residents raise over £850 for community activities, which was combined with donations from River Church, RBWM One Borough Fund and Maidenhead Housing Solutions to ensure this year’s Larchfield Festival was a quality, but affordable event.
   
The Larchfield Festival was being organised by River Church with the support of the local council, Re:charge, Maidenhead Housing Solutions and other churches in the area.

Looking to the future...
One of the aims of the Larchfield Festival is to raise funds for community services on the estate and dialogue with local residents on what these services should look like. River Church has been in discussion with the local council over the past year about these services, as well as getting the views of local residents during the 2010 Larchfield Festival.
