National Fusion Weekend
The Journey is a Fusion Connection Church working with a network of Churches from all types of denominations and streams acoss the UK for the sake of student mission. The National Fusion Weekend annually gathers students from all over the land to come and seek God and encounter his presence together to be stirred up with passion and filled up with his spirit to go and see his kingdom come in universities across the nation at this time. A minibus from The Journey travelled to Oxford in November for a fantastic time together.
A student from The Journey gives her thoughts about the gathering:
"I had such a fabulous time going to the Fusion National Weekend on Saturday. The theme of Isaiah 40 was so inspiring and challenging. The parts of this chapter that spoke to me most were the descriptions and examples of how huge, amazing, awesome and unfathomable God is. Verse 12 says, “Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?” Wow! The day was a time where I was overcome by the vastness of God and I’ve realised how important it is to keep coming back to the fact that God is completely amazing. I know that He is everything I need.
The choice of seminars during the day was great too. Ness Wilson’s seminar on “Leadership and Character” especially impacted me, because I learned how being a leader must be made up of your spiritual gifting to lead, but also your character. God is more interested in who we are, rather than what we do, and so I now understand more that leadership has to be founded on a character that pleases God. I have definitely noticed that effective, trustworthy leaders in my life do have a godly character, and I want to continue developing my character in a godly way."
