the Redding Journey

Bethel buildingOn 7th-15th March 2006 Phil and Tom from The Journey travelled with 34 other companions from River Church to visit a community of Jesus seekers in a town called Redding in California, USA.

Bethel Church has been hungering God's presence and intimacy with Jesus, through soaking in Holy Spirit the supernatural power of God has been able to work through this group of people with miraculous outcomes of healing and restoration.

Bethel prayer houseThe prophetic is not just an add on to this crowd, but something essential for living lives passionate and devoted to God and the father's ways.  It's through encountering God's word through prophetic eyes to fuel the prayers of the saints which in turn brings tremendous encouragement, produicng faith which recognises the moment we are living in.

This is a glimpse of Church radiant in beauty, with an open heaven attracting God's glory to come in greater measure to see his kingdom expanded across the Earth.  Now that we've seen Shasta damthis we can never go back - we've gone beyond the point of no return... the journey has just gone into another dimension... one that is for us all to take responsibility to be living out as spirit-filled ambassadors of Christ.

Two good recommended books are:

When Heaven Invades Earth,

The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind

both by Bill Johnson (senior pastor at Bethel Church).

The Journey icon 2005So we encourage you to keep finding time and space to simply soak in God's presence and allow father to speak to you encouragement.  Let's be people who are living lives of prayer fuelled by what God has shown us of his coming kingdom.  We want to be people who are under the influence of the spirit and who from a point of overflow leak this to those we come in contact with.

Practically you are invited to meet an hour before our gatherings for 'soaking' space (2pm sundays)

The Connection prayer continues to meet on Wednesdays in the vestry (12noon -1pm)

It would be great to possibly gather on Friday nights before sending people out to the Union (7-8pm)

This is a conference that the team of youth leaders from Bethel Church, Redding are coming to lead in the UK (youth in the US includes students and early 20's).

Banning, the youth pastor from Bethel will be over - a man that we met with and through whom God encouraged and spoke to us.  He has a raw, passionate, revivalists heart to see God raise up a movement of young people who know their God and therefore know themselves.  Part of this is to see campuses reached for Christ.

We would love to take a group from The Journey to this conference to have opportunity to experience and hear some of what we did out in Redding.  Details are below, and you can register below so we know how best to sort out transport.

Saturday 1st April 2006 - All day (9am-10pm)

£15 fee per person (special Journey discount from £25)
