Nepal Update December 2010
Hi there
At last I am able to post the long-awaited report from Anand about the mission trip to the Everest base-camp area. I hope that you will enjoy reading it, and the dedication of this team of men and women who trekked for miles to follow their vision. It was obviously was a very strenuous trek for them, and there were many discouragements on the way, but God gave them the strength to persevere! I will leave you to read and catch Anand's heart for the work - but I would just like to pick out one paragraph that seems to sum up the main vision for the trip....
"The need that we saw in that region is the need of training to the leaders and pastors. Due to the expense and being in such a remote place, people ministries and mission agencies have not been able to invest in this area. Therefore it is a must to train the upcoming leaders and pastors in that region who have dedicated themselves for the ministries. The churches are growing but the trained leaders are lacking in them. Therefore it is a burden God put in our hearts to invest in training leaders in that particular region."
On a more personal note - Anand's wife Chiri is expecting their third child on Dec 24th. I asked some of you to pray for her because the baby was in the wrong position for a natural birth. The good news is that the baby has turned the right way. Thankyou Lord! We pray that God blesses her with a safe delivery.
Do continue to pray for our friends in Nepal - and have a wonderful Christmas here!!
Much love,
Jill
