Testimony of Pastor Dawa, leading pastor from Sherpa Church

 
I was born in a Buddhist family before 24 years ago. I was brought up in the Buddhist family where I was trained to practice all the Buddhist rituals and traditions. I kept practicing  religious practices till 16 years. When I was 16, all of a sudden one day my father became severely  sick. We did all the possible things in order for his recovery. But all the efforts failed for his recovery. We went to many doctors and witch-doctors and did all the religious requirements demanded by Buddhist priest and other witch-doctors. But he was not recovered instead his situation grew worse. One day we called a Christian brother to come to our home and pray for my father. My father was immediately and miraculously healed that after one week he went to church and accepted Jesus Christ to be His Lord and Savior. After that my father told us to go to the church and accept the Lord in our lives but we refused to receive Christ in our lives. My father again became sick and his condition was worst than before. He nearly died due to the
sickness, but God again healed him miraculously after a long time of prayer. After that my mother also accepted the Lord in her life and by now my father and mother were believers in our family.

After studying the Christ and Christianity in my parents' lives for one year, I surrendered my life to Him when I was 17. I noticed something solid in Christ in comparison of Buddhism. I found out the reality and Christianity is live. I found out the relationship with a living God which was impossible in my former faith.

 
After receiving Christ I started to get involved in the youth fellowship in my local church which was an hour walk from my home and started to help the leaders. Then my leaders sent me to Sunday School training where I learned about teaching children about God. Then I started a children fellowship, now they are becoming youth and helping me in my ministry. After five years of my spiritual journey with Christ I got the opportunity to join a Bible School in Jiri which is run by Himalayan United Christian Fellowship Nepal. I was trained there for the ministries and my heart was totally fixed from the training. The four months training was the real turning point for me in my life that I was imparted vision of God's work. After my return from the training I started to help in the church where I first attended. I worked there for one year and by that time many new people in my village had come to the Lord. I belong to Sherpa people who is a people hard to reach with the gospel. Since we had already many people in my village all of them from Sherpa group, I felt it was necessary to start a church in my village. Then I started the church with the help of my former leaders and pastors in my mother church.

Now I have been leading the church voluntarily and God has been bringing new souls in the church. The Sherpa people are being added day by day in the congregation, and the work of God has grown from my family to a big church. I am glad that God has given many souls under my care. Healing is taking place, the Sherpa people are continuously converted to our Living God. My place is a strict Buddhist area but God has been working so powerfully that people have been feeling their faith in Buddhism is dead and they are in search of some powerful and living God who can work in their hearts.

 
Please pray for me and at the same time we are in need of a church building. The pressure of the believers is so big that the rented room is unable to hold the believers. When new people come to the church, believers have to go out and make the rooms for new people. Please pray that God would raise other leaders who can work with me because there is a big task to be
accomplished. I got married five months before and now my wife and I are working for the Lord.  Pray for my financial needs as I am serving voluntarily to win the Sherpa people for the Lord.
