Slough celebrates 2 years of meeting Together

Saturday 17th October 2009 was an auspicious day in the life of River Church's Slough Congregation. Apart from celebrating two years of meeting together in The Westgate School, we also celebrated Aileen Lewis's special birthday, Julie Port and Hazel Maul's birthday and John & Mandy Stevens 31st wedding anniversary. What better time for having a party? I'm sure that Jesus would have been right at home as we met in the Crooked Billet at Iver Heath for an early dinner. Thirty two of our regular folk came along together with seven of our friends from Oasis, seven friends from other congregations plus other guests meant that 59 of us including children enjoyed a three course meal in our private lounge in this Beefeater Restaurant. It was great that we could circulate and chat amongst the tables and gave the children some space to play between courses. It was a lovely meal and wonderful value.
