August Alive - Celebrating Life in Community

Dinner at the Crooked Billet, Iver Heath on 22nd August 2009

Clich here to see pictures of this event.

Continuing the August social events planned by the Slough Congregation, 28 of us met at the Crooked Billet for a lovely and good value dinner at this popular Beefeater Restaurant last Saturday evening. Mike Francis had done a superb job arranging and rounding us all up for this great event. We had exclusive use of the upstairs lounge and three large round tables which enabled us to circulate and chat to each other between courses without upsetting other diners.

It was great to see Richard & Jean there just 3 weeks after their return from their world tour following their year at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in California. Wonderful as well to have Slough's very own missionaries to Thailand Andy & Val, back for a few weeks working holiday before returning to progress their plans to build a boys home in Chiang Rai.

I can't report on everyone's meal, but I had a mushroom starter, chicken main and a fruit and ice cream sundae that Mike had recommended and for which I was not at all disappointed.

It was a shame that not everyone had been able to come, it was a lovely evening and a great relationship building opportunity.

Who would like another similar evening to celebrate the congregations second birthday in October?
