How did you learn about Moscow Evangelical Christian Seminary?
Through the Internet. During the last year of my studies at the Tavriya Christian University I began looking for a place to continue my studies. Through e-mail I was able to obtain all the answers to the questions I was interested in.
Why did you choose this Seminary?
1. I was interested in the Master of Divinity course the Seminary offered; most of the other Seminaries did not offer this degree.
2. The prominence and good reputation of the Seminary over the territory of the former USSR.
3. Scholarships available from the Seminary made it possible to get the training.
What ministry are you going to have during your studies at the Seminary?
1. The Young Life International ministry working with teenagers and the youth; this would be mostly geared toward reaching the unbelievers, evangelizing, and helping in the initial spiritual growth.
2. The Paradigm Moscow Church through preaching and personal discipleship.
How did you become a Christian?
In the Summer of 1991, a group of young people arrived at the town I lived in to show the Jesus film. I went to watch the film, but spent all of the show time in talking with these young people. We were talking about God, about life, and about the church. Finally, they invited me to a church. In a week I went to the Baptist church of the city of Almaluk. I became a regular attendee of the church and, eventually, realized that Jesus was my personal Savior. I cannot say that it changed my life drastically as I had always believed that there was a God and, hence, I had been trying to live the life “right.” Nevertheless, on 26 September 1992, I was baptized and became a member of the church. Three years passed since the day until I realized in my heart and mind and accepted in my life the fact Jesus was not only the Savior but also the Lord of my life. Hence, since 1994 I became an active member of the church, and started striving to serve Him. Nowadays I know (not just believe) that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and Lord. In 1999 He called me to become a minister of His and I accepted the call with gladness.
What are your plans after graduation from the Seminary?
1. To carry on with the youth ministry, to develop and strengthen youth churches.
2. To equip youth leaders in a practical way by:
a) personal discipleship
b) theoretical foundations
c) practical training
3. To train members of the church with regard to practical ministry skills.
4. To work toward planting a new church in Pushkino, Moscow region (in a couple of years). |
